History
The Delaware Learning Institute of Cosmetology
opened its doors in the southern Delaware area in
September of 2000. Susan Bowen, owner and CEO,
has been in the education field for 18 years. Her mission,
“Empowered Through Education” has furnished the
graduates of our programs with professional confidence
and the skills needed to enter the work force.
Where are we headed?
"Let me start with where we began. The owners of
Delaware Learning Institute had a vision, which was to
start a school of cosmetology. In the Fall of 2000 they
did just that. At that time, our facility was housed in
one building, which was well equipped yet rather confining,
so we decided to expand. In addition to our existing
building, we now have a styling center for our junior and
senior student stylists as well as our former building,
which will house our freshmen. It too is well equipped and
set up to resemble an up-scale salon and operates in the
same manner. So, where are we headed? In a positive
direction, to guide our students into the new millennium
as the best entry-level professionals Delaware Learning
Institute can produce."

New Location
In the Fall of 2008 we moved to a new building due to increased
enrollments.
